Introducing the Curious Builder Collective for Designers
Interior design networking events help designers expand their networks and gain valuable business insights! Our builders collective has yielded incredible results, and we felt the time was right to extend the opportunity to other experts in the field! We are so excited to announce a new branch of the Curious Builder Collective specifically tailored for designers. This collective aims to foster meaningful connections and provide a platform for sharing knowledge with fellow designers and experiences within the interior design community.
The Inspiration for an Interior Design Networking Event
Why create a collective group specifically for designers? The success of our builder-focused events sparked the idea. After our second event, I had a chance encounter with Julia Miller from Yond Interiors. While discussing the builder collective, I asked her opinion on starting a similar group for the design industry. Her enthusiasm, along with interest from Bridget Chirgos of Chirigos Design and Kate Regan from The Sitting Room, was the source of inspiration I needed to take the plunge and launch the designer collective.
What to Expect
Designers participating in this group can anticipate a focus on the business aspects of interior design. Similar to our builder collective, the designer sessions will feature small group settings of around nine participants. These intimate gatherings will facilitate in-depth discussions based on a pre-set list of questions, with ample opportunity for organic conversation. Our first sessions this fall will cover crucial topics like branding and contracts- it’s a can’t-miss for anyone in the design trade!
The Power of a Designer-Focused Group
One of the most exciting aspects of this new collective is the fresh perspective it brings. While builders have access to various networking opportunities and association groups, there are fewer collaborative business opportunities specifically for designers. The Curious Builder Collective aims to fill this gap, providing a structured environment where designers can come together to share best practices and learn from each other. By bringing the community together, we hope to elevate the industry collectively!
What’s Ahead
We have an amazing lineup of industry professional speakers and topics planned for our first sessions:
Mollie Windmiller from LAB: Mollie will lead branding exercises and discussions, helping designers refine their brand identity and their marketing strategies to attract potential clients.
Steve Yoch from Felhaber Larson: Steve will guide us through common contract mistakes and offer advice on improving business contracts and retainers, ensuring your agreements are both all-encompassing and fair.
We can't wait to kick off these sessions and start building a strong, supportive community for interior design business owners.
Join us and be part of this exciting new chapter in the Curious Builder Collective. Let’s connect, learn, and grow together!
